It ranks among the most impressive features of the Valais and is rich in natural resources: 30-kilometer long Mattertal Valley, which stretches from Stalden to Zermatt. Ice and rocky steppes, 29 four-thousand meter peaks and numerous vineyards, deep ravines and high Alpine ski lifts, seclusion and world-class health resorts all characterize a valley that fascinates with its stark contrasts and whose gripping scenic aesthetics...are simply liberating. \"st-niklaus\"<\/a>St. Niklaus <\/strong>is located 1100 meters above sea level, with particularly narrow Nikolaital Valley wedged in at this location. Steep slopes, imposing mountains and rock faces surround it.\u00a0A special feature of the mountain village is its manufacturing facility. \nPartial Opening of the Europaweg Trail Gr\u00e4chen \u2013 Zermatt as of June 26, 2026<\/strong>\nThe Europaweg trail between Gr\u00e4chen and Zermatt is partially accessible. Due to closures on certain sections, we kindly ask all hikers to take note of the following information:\n

\nClosed Trail Sections:<\/strong>\nRanda \u2013 T\u00e4sch:<\/strong>\nSection between Springelboden and Eggenstadel<\/strong>\n

\nDetours:<\/strong>\nRanda (Springelboden) \u2013 T\u00e4sch (Eggenstadel):<\/strong>\nPlease follow the hiking trail from Springelboden<\/strong> to Attermenzen<\/strong>. From there, the trail continues to T\u00e4sch<\/strong>. In T\u00e4sch, take the marked hiking path toward T\u00e4schalp<\/strong>.\n
